What is pole fitness?

Pole fitness is a term used sometimes to describe pole dancing, it is a great way to stay fit and healthy with a wide variety of styles of dance available to suit everyone. Whether sexy is your style or you love the flips and tricks it is a whole lot of fun and empowers your confidence.

What is an aerial workout?

Aerial fitness is yoga-style exercise using silks for strength training, balance and posture work.

What are the best pole fitness clothes to wear?

How strong do you have to be for pole dancing?

Anybody in any shape and form can do pole dancing.

 

Can I learn how to pole dance by myself?

Yes, you can teach yourself to pole dance, there are plenty of online resources to learn from. However, we recommend finding a studio close to you as it is great to learn proper technique from the start and to have someone who can spot you to try those more challenging tricks as you progress.

 

It is also great to have a second person view on what you can improve on, not to mention the awesome new friends you can make and the wonderful pole dance and aerial sports communities you can become a part of.

Is it better to wear shorts or leggings for pole dancing?

Pole dancing generally needs skin contact with the pole as this creates the way for the dancer to stick to the pole or slide and spin. There are certain areas of the body in particular that need to be able to grip.

 

These areas are the thighs and backs of knees, the sides of the stomach, the underarm area and elbows and of course the hands. Our Martini Shorts are specifically designed for pole dancing to ensure the perfect grip on the pole where and when needed, whilst giving you enough coverage to feel confident your clothing won’t move.

 

Our leggings have been designed in soft luscious fabric to be easy to put on when you may be warm after a workout or have used pole grip.

What do I need to bring to a pole fitness class?

The perfect pole dance training outfit includes one of our wonderful F|Lux sports bras together with either high or low waisted pole shorts accompanied with one of our lovely tops. Make sure to also bring a bottle of water to keep yourself hydrated and a good pole grip if you like to use one. If you are a beginner, grip is not essential, you will assess over time whether it is something you need and which one best suits your needs depending on your skin type.

Is pole fitness good for you?

Yes, pole fitness gives you great core and upper body strength. It is a fun, sociable way to work out whilst keeping fit. Additionally, we have found ourselves and through friends that it is really helpful with mental health. Some mental down time for an hour or so while you focus on your pole dance training can do a world of wonders for the mind.

Can you do pole fitness in leggings?

Our leggings don't have any grip on the outside so we do not recommend using them on a stainless steel pole. If you have a silicone pole you can definitely use our jade leggings for training. Additionally, our leggings have been designed in soft, stretchy fabric to be easy to put on when you may be warm after a workout or have used pole grip.

Can anyone do pole fitness?

Yes absolutely!! We encourage anybody of any shape and size to come and try pole fitness.

 

The muscles needed for grip strength etc are generally different to most other sports so whether you are a gym bunny or exercise is not usually your thing you can all be at a level playing field at the beginning as you learn the tricks and techniques together. If you are concerned about having so much skin on show check out our high waist shorts, they have been designed to come up high enough in the waist to keep you covered whilst still having the skin out that you need.

Are F|Lux products suitable for aerial hoop & silks?

Absolutely! We have designed all our pole fitness products with aerial silks and aerial hoop needs in mind.

 

Our Jade leggings are perfect to use with silks and aerial, the soft fabric has been specifically selected to give you just the right amount of friction and slip through the hoop and silks. They can be paired with either of our sports bras in any colour. Often you will want to have your upper body covered for hoop and silks so check out our Helix Top and Jasmine Top, they keep you covered whilst showing off the beautiful backs on our sports bras.

What clothing would you recommend for using aerial hoop & aerial silks?

We recommend using our Jade Leggings that you can perfectly colour match with either our Lotus Bra or Helix Bra for the perfect aerial silks and aerial hoop set. Check out our Instagram for some inspirational posts.

ORDERS

When will my F|Lux order be dispatched?

Once we receive your order we aim to pack & dispatch your order by the next business day.

​

Can I cancel or change an order after I’ve placed it?

We will try and work quickly to ensure your order is packed and sent to you as soon as possible. If you need to make any changes to your order it will need to be before the order is fulfilled and sent out. To request a change in your order please contact us at hello@f-lux-activewear.co.uk or contact us via business WhatsApp as soon as possible and we’ll do our best to assist. We cannot always guarantee that changes will be possible after the order has begun being processed.

What do I do if I receive a faulty item in my order? 

We work hard to ensure all of our products are carefully crafted to the highest quality. However if you have a concern with a faulty or damaged item, please contact us at hello@f-lux-activewear.co.uk with a description and images of your product fault within 7 days of the date it was delivered to you.

I have an incorrect item in my order, what do I do?

We pride ourselves on the level of care and attention that goes into fulfilling your orders. If, on the odd occasion, an error is made on our behalf we will endeavor to resolve the issue as soon as possible. We will most likely ask you to arrange the return of the item back to us and to send us a copy of your return postage receipt. When we receive this, we will refund any postage paid and ship the correct item immediately.

Can I use more than 1 Promo code on my F|Lux order?

Currently you can only use one promo code at a time.

I ordered a gift card - will it be posted through the mail?

No. All gift cards are digital and will be emailed to your email address.

Does my Gift card have an expiry date? 

No, gift cards don't expire, you can enjoy them whenever you want.

RETURNS

​

Does F|Lux accept returns? Yes, we do accept returns please see our exchange and return policy for any further questions. We do not pay for the return postage.

What is your exchange / return policy at F|Lux?

We hope you love our products as much as we do but we do understand that sometimes a product doesn't quite suit. We are happy to accept returns or exchanges within 14 days of receiving your order.

Please ensure returned products are in an unworn & unwashed condition. When trying on your purchase please ensure underwear is worn and no marking from makeup or staining from deodorants occurs.

Do I need to pay for my return postage? 
Unfortunately, F|Lux Activewear Ltd. currently cannot cover the cost of return postage or insurance. This is because we are a small company and cannot afford to offer free shipping and free return shipping at this time. Exceptions will be taken if you are returning an item due an error on our own behalf. Under these circumstances, we will ask you to send us your receipt of return postage and we will reimburse you for the expenses paid.

 

You are welcome to choose any courier service you wish, but we recommend using a postal service with a tracking number. F|Lux Activewear Ltd. cannot be held liable for items that are lost or damaged in the return process.

How can I get a new return slip?
Visit the returns page on our website and there is a link to download a new form.  

What happens if I forgot to include my return form?
Please contact us at hello@f-lux-activewear.co.uk with order number and a brief description or message us on Business Whatsapp directly.

How long until my return is processed?
Once your returned item is received and inspected, you will be notified via an email. You will also be informed about the approval or rejection of your refund request. If approved, the refund request will be processed within 5 - 7 working days after confirmation of its approval.

Is there somewhere I can try on F|Lux products?

As we are only a small start-up business we currently don't have any retail stores and handle everything online. Follow our Instagram and check our Events page for any upcoming event announcements that we are attending. This will be the perfect opportunity where you can touch and feel and see our amazing products.

Where are F|Lux products made? 

Our products have been sketched and designed by Charlie and Karo, our founders. The product development was fully completed in the UK and our products are made in Turkey.

​

How easy is it to wash F|Lux products? 

Machine wash your sets in cold water (30 degrees). Avoid washing with abrasive fabrics/materials. Reshape the clothing and cups while wet then lay flat to dry or tumble dry on very low. Do not bleach, wash bright colours alone before you wear them and wash bright colours with similar colours. 

 

We don't believe in endless tags attached to your product so we made sure the washing instructions are printed on the inside of your garments, therefore they are easy to check before washing. Keep the swing tag that comes in your parcel somewhere safe for a reference of the full care instructions.

What fabric are F|Lux pole sets made of? 

We use two sets of fabrics. Our Martini Shorts, our Lotus and Helix bra as well as our Jade Leggings are made of the same fabric to provide a cohesive look and feel. The fabric is 92% PES & 8% Elastane. The final touch of the fabric being brushed ensures the soft feel and makes them wonderful to wear for a longer period of time.

Our Jasmine Top & Helix Top are made from a lighter fabric which is 51% Modal 49% Cotton.

Does our Lotus bra come in Light Sage?

We currently don't offer the Lotus bra in Light Sage but we are continuously working on how we can offer every product in all colours.

Does our Helix bra come in Dark Rose?

We currently don't offer the helix bra in dark Rose but we are continuously working on how we can offer every product in all colours.

Do you sell male products? 

We currently only offer female products, we have lots of plans for expansion in the future. Watch this space.

What makes our High Rise Martini Shorts stand out? 

Our Martini shorts have been designed to offer the perfect grip area to be exposed when worn that is necessary to grip the pole, without having to pull and tweak the shorts. We believe our pole dance shorts have been designed to perfection.

​

How do I know if F|Lux products will suit me?

We want to empower women to feel strong, confident and sexy! We believe we have created a range of products that flatters everybody’s shape. The products feel like a second skin and you will want to wear them all the time - not just to work out.

​

Do F|Lux leggings really have phone pockets?

Yes our Jade leggings come with handy phone pockets, these have been specifically designed for convenience once you leave the studio. Or if you just like to lounge in our Jade leggings and like to have your phone close by ;)

SIZING

​

How does F|Lux sizing work?  

We currently offer UK Sizes from 8-20. Inside our garments the clothing is marked in US and EU sizes so if you are purchasing from the UK, please reference our size guide online and reference to the S, M, L etc marked inside your clothing for which sizes to re-order. If you would like recommendations on which size to go for please message us, we are more than happy to help. 

 

Do you sell plus size pole dance wear?

We are happy to be able to have more inclusive plus size pole dance wear than is currently available across the Pole and Aerial Industry and hope to increase our inclusivity as we expand. The sizing of our pole wear is generous, we recommend if you are in between sizes that you size down.
